Emily Mackay, head of AI and data strategy at Congenica, Eco entrepreneur and innovator in machine learning and data technologies, joins us this week. Emily tells us how her desire for order and efficiency led her to the world of data and how researching renewable energy sources led her to found Microgenius, a digital, community funding platform. Emily discusses her steep learning curve as founder of Microgenius and Crowdsurfer. Continuing on to a difficult end to her working at TAB and then her prosperous new role at Congenica.

Emily is Head of AI & Data Strategy at Congenica. She is devising the company’s strategy to automate human genomic interpretation using machine learning, and leads Congenica’s external relationships with data and statistics partners. Before Congenica she directed innovations in machine learning and data analysis in fintech and logistics. Emily was shortlisted as Data Leader of the Year in Information Age's Tech Leaders of the Year 2017, is a Fellow of the RSA and holds an MA from the University of Oxford.
